Children and Youth Activities
Harmony Youth and Children are once again raising vegetables in a garden to donate to the local food pantry. Below are some photos of the group hard at work earlier this month. Looks like the Lord is blessing their efforts.
The Youth and Children sponsored a Chili Cook-off after worship service January 30th as a fundraiser to purchase beds for Bishop Dickson Ochutto's orphanage in Kenya. Their goal was $1,000 which would buy fifty beds for children sleeping on mats and the floor.
There were seven entrants in the cook-off and Butch Salmons won the Blue Ribbon as selected by judges Tim Gibson, Ronnie Gibson and Judy Griffith. The most exciting news was the amount donated for the beds surpassed their goal of $1,000! GOD IS SO GOOD for those who are faithful in mission ministry.
Thanks to all who participated in the cook-off, the judges, those who came and ate chili beans, cornbread and cake, and especially those who gave from their hearts and made this fundraiser so successful. Hopefully we'll have a picture of the pajama gang workers on this page very soon. See winner's photo below.
