2011 Missions
God's Storehouse is a private, non-profit organization that collects, stores and distributes food to the poor, elderly and children in our area. Over 100 church congregations support their work by donations of food, money and time. Our Missions Committee has sent $1000 so far this year.
Harmony is supporting the Water Purification Program of Samaritan's Purse. This program includes drilling freshwater wells, rehabilitating existing wells, water treatment packets for use in disaster areas, household filters, and community filtration systems. Our gift to date is $1000.
This homeless shelter is located in the Compson Building at 206 South Ridge Street. An apprenticeship program offers specialized training for those in need. Their goal is "To help each participant through bringing together business leaders and our homeless guests through an apprenticeship arrangement to reach success in employment". Harmony has sent a $1000 gift.
"Brother Dickson" has visited Harmony several years over the last decade. We have supported him in such varied ways as: wedding dresses for brides, a dairy cow for the orphanage, and money for windows and doors for the orphanage. This year the Missions Committee donated $1000 to pay for a water storage tank.
